| Chevrolet’s concept SSR roadster
truck, rolled onto the stage sporting a retro look, with bulging fenders framing the
wheel wells on this two-door pickup with a power- retractable convertible top. GM
officials describe the SSR—which stands for Super Sport Roadster—as an
"open-air sports car with unparalleled cargo room and flexibility." The
SSR carries a high-tech 6.0-liter V8 under the hood and features a power-retractable top.
At the back, the SSR has a tonneau lid. Inside, designers sought flexibility, too, so the
center storage console can convert into a third-seat. Thus, there’s no gearshift
lever in the middle of the car. Shifter buttons are on the steering wheel instead. The
interior is clean, and most driver controls can be hidden behind a panel door on the
dashboard. |
