| AN ENTIRELY NEW CAR FOR A NEW CENTURY |
| The PT Cruiser started life as the Pronto Cruizer concept,
a second iteration of which was unveiled in concept form by DaimlerChrysler featuring
all-wheel drive. Calling it a "segment breaker too cool to categorize," Chrysler
said the front-drive PT Cruiser will be powered by a new 2.4-liter 16-valve engine with an
automatic or manual transmission. Other power trains as well as right-hand drive will be
available for international markets. Most importantly, the PT Cruiser offers roominess
inside a small package. Introduced at the North American International Auto Show -
Detroit, Michigan - January, 1999. |
