| The Thunderbird, first introduced in October 1954, will go
on the market as a production car in the 2001 model year. Like the original, the concept
Thunderbird is a two-passenger, rear-drive, V8-powered coupe with a removable hard top. It
picks up design elements from Thunderbirds of 1955-57 and 1961-62. Introduced at the North American
International Auto Show -
